Select one or more images from the above web resources starting with letters I - K and either draw, paint, or create some other work of art based on the photograph.
I - K Crystal Minerals Form Drawings
Guidelines: Research the varying crystal forms any of the minerals starting with letters I - K can take. You can use Natureglo's eScience PowerPoint, Minerals I - K found in NatureGlo's full 8-week course here (included with the purchase of the live class) to get you started with different crystal forms for the minerals we've studied or select your own minerals starting with letters I - K using a site like Minerals.net's alphabetical mineral listing or Webmineral.com's alphabetical index to assist you. In your Rocks & Minerals journal list and draw as many different crystal forms as you can find for your chosen mineral or minerals and draw them in your journal. Scroll through the photo gallery looking for different crystal forms. To use Google, do an image search using key words, such as "crystal forms of jasper" or "crystal form of kampfite, in the search engine. Draw the forms for pictures you select in your journal. Draw and label the specimens. Include the name of the rock and it's location if given and any other interesting details given.
Jasper Types Color Drawings
Guidelines: Research the varying colors of jasper. You can use Natureglo's eScience PowerPoint, Minerals I - K to get you started with a list of the different jasper colors from slide #'s 10 & 11. In your Rocks & Minerals journal list and draw as many different jasper types as you can find from either Google searches or using the website, Minerals of the World Jasper Types. Scroll through the photo gallery looking for different jasper types. Admire their colors and select at least five to draw in your journal. You can also use Google to search to find more color forms. Draw as many different color specimens as you can in your journal and label the specimens. Include the name of the rock and it's location (if that information is offered) and any other interesting details given.
