Projects & Activities with Video Tutorials
Project & Activity Ideas:
Project & Activity Ideas:
- Select one mineral starting with letters A - D either from NatureGlo's eScience free PowerPoint lesson here, or any mineral letters A - D. You can choose more than one mineral. Research and draw as many different crystal types as you can of your mineral in your Rocks & Minerals journal.
- Print out a world map. Wikimedia Commons has some Creative Commons Maps of the World here that you can download and use freely. Find out the biggest mineral producing countries of the world for each of the minerals studied in this unit. Mark them on your map. Suggestion: draw or cut out images of the minerals and attach them to their locations on the map.
- Try the crystal growing experiment using the video tutorials below.
Live Class Videos (Aug. - Oct. THURSDAY 8-week Session)
There wasn't an atomic model video for brookite, but check out the videos for brookite's other polymorph's (minerals with the same composition but different atomic structures) below.
