Today I made it out to my sit spot. I took some beautiful closeup photographs of a New York fern's frond leaflet. Fern fronds are fractals. Fractals is a study in mathematics (featured more in my MathArt classes) about self-similarity in nature or a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts. Each part is a reduced-size copy of the whole. I had an enjoyable time listening to the locusts as they were quite loud! The forest smelled of "old summer" with it's dry, earthy smell. We have not been getting quite enough rain I think and the earth is a bit too dry.
I show an example of fractal self similarity in the photos below. I really enjoyed taking these shots.
